November ’10 BSCMF Letter
Monday, November 1st, 2010 | BSCMF Newsletters
November 2010
Dear BSCMF Member,
“Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher.”
· Luke 6:40 (NLT)
This month I want you to get hold of a revelation that will impact your life and ministry. Jesus said that you would never be greater than your master (or “teacher” like it states in the New Living Translation), but if you will submit yourself to the master, you will become like your master/teacher. Think of it…You will never be greater than Jesus, but if you will submit you life – your total life to our master, Jesus– you can become like Jesus! That my dear Brethren is a powerful thought; and it is the reason why so little pastors and 5-fold ministers walk in the power of God like Jesus did. Remember, Jesus stated in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Jesus was verifying what he said in Luke 6:40 – You will do the same works as your master/teacher, you will become like the master/teacher – You will walk in victory like Jesus!
But so few 5-fold ministers walk in the power of God, and they often depend upon ‘enticing words of men’, and seek popularity and fame as they try to build themselves up in worldly ways….No one is truly walking in the fullness of what Jesus stated. But as members of Bond Servants of Christ Ministerial Fellowship, you have determined in your heart to follow your master, Jesus. So what do we need to do? We need to focus upon the truth that we must truly become Disciples of Christ. As Jesus stated, we need to deny ourselves – deny our wants, our goals, our plans, our selfish motives – and take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. Our Lord promised that if we would pursue a faithful walk as a disciple and become “fully trained”, we would become like Jesus. If we will lose OUR life, we will find HIS life!
What is it to be fully trained? Well, as any student, you need to show yourselves approved of God and diligently study God’s Word; and more importantly you need to discipline yourself to do whatever the Word of God says. You need to be in submission to the Holy Ghost, ever eager to hear what He has to say – and to follow it immediately. But more importantly, you need to “die to self” – you need to die to your own ambitions and wants: WHICH IS DIFFERENT THAN FOLLOWING GOD’S PLANS AND DESIRES FOR YOU!
Many Believers just refuse to do what it takes to become a fully trained student of Jesus. But if you will dare to believe Jesus’ Words and submit yourself to His leadership and follow the Holy Spirit with you whole heart, you will open the door for the miraculous power of God to change your life, family and ministry forever—Dare to be a true Disciple and walk like Jesus!
May God bless you richly,
Dr. Will Pantin
